House of Windsor Tour

Today I thought I'd bring you a house tour from California. This Brentwood home in Los Angeles known as the House of Windsor is perfection! Renowned designer Windsor Smith teamed with nine other elite industry designers to result in what was solely a well appointed concept house of quality and style. What I love most is the recognizable East Coast aesthetic its been given although its location is in the West Coast. This showhouse was highlighted in Veranda Magazine and later purchased by a high-profile celebrity couple. This 8,000 square-foot estate with six-bedrooms and eight-bathrooms is the perfect spread as a multi-family dwelling or vacation home that also includes lavish landscapes, a horse stable and paddock, and views of the estate from every room. Windsor is admirable for her mixing of antiques and modern living from space planning to interior decoration.

The Federal exterior facade and color palette is clean and simple with no exaggeration but instead a lush appeal.

Vintage Jansen armchairs chosen for the center island are the perfect period style pieces to add a feeling of European hierarchy to the kitchen's contemporary finishes. The solid oak floors by Exquiste Surfaces, chosen for multiple areas of the home invigorates a rustic look against the fresh white walls and gray cabinetry.

The decor here is somewhat formal and casual with high-end fabrics chosen in natural fibers mixed with soft leathers and brass finishes. Walls covered in Benjamin Moore's White Dove and Galveston Gray trim.

This living space is arranged to engage all activities in one space. And how can anyone ignore the abundance of natural light and views of the lavish gardens surrounding the estate? The outside effortlessly adds life and tranquility into the home.

Recycled marble flooring by Exquisite Surface and ceiling lanterns from Brighton Collection were chosen for this wide gateway smartly connecting the public spaces to accommodate entertaining.

The panoramic views extend the indoor living spaces to the lavish landscapes and seating arrangements outdoors. Whether picking the cozy spot by the fire during those colder evenings or the casual lounge area in the shade arranged to seat a group comfortably, each of the exterior environments are for practical living that remain true to the exterior style of the home.

A stable for the horses or hobby room. There's something that speaks retreat once you've reached this part of the estate. A personal oasis to unwind and connect with nature.

 I love the private outdoor spaces and gardens on this estate. I have definitely been inspired by this lovely home and taken a few notes for my design files. I'm already looking forward to Spring and implementing a few of these ideas into my own outdoor living space.
