Be Happier at Home

Highlight the focal point in the room.

Marking your personality in the home is important because it reflects your personal style. The use of color or decorative natural stone to upgrade a fireplace is the perfect way to enhance the space.

Comfortable Seating

If you enjoy lounging around the house on the weekends you know how important comfort is. Consider deep seating with cushioned-backs to get those feet off the floor. Sofa-sectionals or modular options that can be tailored to your space's needs are great choices to get that relaxed and casual look. Whether it's a sitting room, den, or family room invest in quality that will last. Keep it durable with fabrics that can handle lots of wear, choose color selections that compliment multiple color schemes, and most importantly the style should be transitional and not dated to one style period. You'll be happier knowing your room remains on trend. Consider these brands when shopping for top rated sofas for excellent value:

The key is to never purchase a sofa that's held together solely by staples, glue, or nails. If possible ask the manufacturer for written information on frame joinery. An antique is exactly that (an antique) so don't pick style over comfort for everyday living.

Organization

Every woman can relate to the closet nightmare and every year feeling like it's time to declutter and rid your life of things you haven't used or worn in over eight months. Keeping an organized life is a great way to start the new year off right. Cultivate a system that fits your lifestyle to prioritize the different duties of your life. Because when you're talking about a schedule that includes a combination of work, relationships, kids, hobbies, creative endeavours, working out, and possibly all of the above, organization is the way to go. Color & Texture

Don't be afraid of color! Instead pick one color and layer using different shades from the same color family. Experiment with different fabrics and finishes within the color family to add contrast. Decorate with accessories in the opposite color temperature so the room feels balanced and well composed! Be practical by choosing an easily accessorized color for permanent furniture pieces, so you can enjoy fresh, new looks season after season.

Grow Something

Regardless of size, a growing plant prepared and nurtured by you can bring you a sense of accomplishment. A plant requires nourishment to be healthy and it's gift back to you is purifying the air in your home. If you don't have a green thumb purchase fresh flowers and prepare an arrangement all your own to add that finishing touch to your entry or coffee table.
