Talking BLACK

I saw this home designed by Caitlin McCarthy Design and just fell in love with the modern chic style. The use of black and bold tones are perfect for adding glam to the space. Notice how all the colors against black just pop, from the coffee table, the window, and the door fronts of the cabinetry. The use of color power here has elevated the white walls and floors.

Black again...but against a classic shade of white. When in doubt keep your color schemes simple and it's sure to give that put together look. The focus is on the use of black in this space with only light walls to contrast. The ceiling fixture draws your attention right to the round table and its surroundings. Black and white always picture perfect and timeless!

I figured it fitting to include a few shots of showrooms from High Point Fall Market last month that are showing off monochromatic color schemes with black. From dark leather ottomans and coffee tables accessorized with polished or antiqued metals to silk and wool rugs that mimic pieces of art. How do you use black in your home? Scared to be bold and commit to dark walls and furniture? Start small and try accessorizing black into your space with lighting, rugs and smaller decor that is more forgiving and goes with every color. Remember to have fun with it!
